Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have Health & Safety policies & procedures?

At Brilliant Minds, we prioritize safety and maintain stringent Health & Safety protocols. Our comprehensive policies cover all aspects of safety, including regular inspections of equipment, hazard identification and mitigation, secure storage of hazardous substances, and safety education for children, such as proper indoor walking, seated eating, and respectful interactions. Furthermore, all team members undergo a risk assessment process, with the majority also receiving first aid training.

How will you help my child settle in?

We understand the importance of a smooth transition for your child into Brilliant Minds. We suggest four introductory visits, each lasting between 45 minutes to one and half an hour. During the first visit, you are encouraged to stay with your child, allowing mutual familiarity with our teachers. Subsequent visits can be drop-offs, after which our staff will update you on your child’s adjustment. Once enrolled, you are welcome to call anytime to check on your child’s progress, though you’ll likely find they quickly grow to love their new environment!

Do you participate in the 20 hours ECE scheme?
Yes, Brilliant Minds participates in the 20 hours ECE scheme, offering fully subsidized care for children aged 3 to 5 for up to 20 hours each week. This can be applied to specific session times or as a comprehensive part of our enrollment package. For more details, please contact us.

What sort of food will my child be eating?

Our on-site culinary team at Brilliant Minds prepares nutritious, tasty meals daily, fostering a ‘family style’ dining experience to enhance social skills and table manners. Our monthly rotating menu includes a variety of dishes for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. To meet the dietary requirements of children from various cultural backgrounds, we provide fully vegetarian meals.

What happens if my child falls ill or has an accident at the centre?

At Brilliant Minds, your child’s well-being is our utmost concern. In the event of an illness or minor accident, we provide immediate first aid and comfort. We will contact you without delay to inform you of the situation and send an accident report home for your review. For serious concerns, we follow emergency procedures and ensure you are informed as quickly as possible.

How can I make the goodbyes easier?
Based on our experience at Brilliant Minds, establishing a consistent goodbye routine can ease the separation process. Tips include engaging in a brief activity like reading or a puzzle before parting, keeping farewells short, reassuring your child of your return, and promptly departing post-goodbye. Remember, children are sensitive to parents’ emotions, so maintaining a positive outlook about the centre is crucial.

How do you communicate with parents?

At Brilliant Minds, we foster strong relationships with families through various communication tools. For infants, we use daily diaries and share learning stories through our internal communication system, while older children’s activities are communicated through monthly newsletters, and regular updates. We encourage appointments for in-depth discussions to ensure dedicated attention without interruptions.
